Exclusive Prints of Original Geoff Hunt Oil-on-Canvas Painting (of the foundering of HMS Captain)

Description

Geoff Hunt is an artist who has created an original oil-on-canvas painting, depicting the founding of HMS Captain (7 September 1870).

Harry Cowper-Coles has purchased the original painting, and the University has received a high-res digital scan of the painting.

The University can use images of the painting in the "Find the Captain" Project.

It can also sell from the Project website Exclusive Prints on high quality acid-free giclée paper; with proceeds going towards the Find the Captain Project and the National Museum of the Royal Navy.

‘In Agreement (November 2024) with artist Geoff Hunt and Harry Cowper-Coles (original painting owner), the University of Wolverhampton holds exclusive rights to sell giclee prints of the original painting with 50% of the proceeds annually donated to the National Museum of the Royal Navy.’
