Based at the Black Country Living Museum, this interactive workshop is ideal for any teacher who wishes to find out more about the practicalities of planning an educational visit. The workshop is generic, and the principles discussed could be applied to any site of historic or geographic interest.

Content covered includes: • The purpose and value of an educational visit; • A tour of the site with a member of BCLM staff. • Site considerations, including risk assessment; • Planning educational activities; • Opportunities for discussion and sharing good practice.

Suitable for: History and Geography teachers; specifically, anyone who is interested in developing an understanding of the processes involved in planning an educational visit.

Additional information: Please wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the BCLM site. There are a selection of shops/eateries on site at the BCLM and you are free to purchase your food from here, or you may wish to bring your own lunch with you.

Location: The Black Country Living Museum https://bclm.com/visit/directions/ (if travelling by car, please park on Carpark 2). A free parking token is included in the workshop cost.
